ABOUT US
My Story
I learned to dive in order to find an activity where I could keep up with my son. At 15, he was 6'3" and had surpassed my athletic talents on land; underwater, however, we were equals. Scuba (Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus) is an activity of slow and refined movements. Size is not a factor in buoyancy control, and speed should be left to the fish. As my son developed a passion for marine biology, diving became a staple in our household. Our time spent together learning, training, diving, and debriefing has led to an abiding bond.
As I continued diving, I was motivated to improve my skills and knowledge so that I could be an example for my children. That motivation led me to advance through the NAUI Leadership Training Program to obtain the certification of NAUI Instructor in 2017. After 500 dives in the waters of Lake Champlain, Massachusetts, Hawaii, Mexico, the Bahamas, Saint Thomas, Saint Martin, Puerto Rico, Honduras, Dominican Republic, and the Turks and Caicos, I believe that diving skills should be taught with the premise that upon receiving a Scuba certification, a diver should be competent and confident.
Scuba H2O™ was born out of this belief and is a way for me to combine my love of diving and my passion for teaching. I strive to provide divers with the technical skills, knowledge, and confidence necessary for safe and enjoyable diving.
